Omg I just stood  up and had a shooting stabbing pain in my left tummy area worse than ever before.  I've been having that but not so intense as now.  Why is my pain getting worse and not better????  I'm getting to the point where I don't wanna sit or lay down cause I don't want that pain.  The pain is still there when standing but not as intense always.  I talked to my Dr. office and they said it just needs time to heal and I would believe that as I have been except why is my pain getting worse not better???? I don't know how much more I can take.  Kerry

I had pretty severe pain, didnt sleep in my bed for two weeks because of it, was far easier sleeping on a recliner  it made getting from sitting to standing alot easier and didnt have to deal with the pain from lying to sitting...

There was sharp pains they said was from deep stitching but that didnt seem to last for too long.. I found that walking around as much as i could helped and trying to get in your protein helped.. I dont think i was walking around standing straight without holding my stomach for well over two weeks.. But i also noticed that the incission that they removed the stomach remenent from was badly bruised it took a month for that to go away so that may have been alot of the problem??

but just to let you know that yeah sometimes the first couple of weeks its not so pleasant, but it does get better and you should start seeing some slight improvment each day..

Thank you.  I see a lot of people say they don't even need their meds but I have been taking them as much as I can and it still doesn't touch my pain.  Hopefully it will get better I just started doubting as I started feeling worse and not better. Kerry

I was having severe stabbing pain that was the worst pain that I've ever experienced.  I wound up in the ER because I couldnt take a full breath without the pain.  Turns out I popped a stitch in the muscle wall and potentially tore a muscle at the same time.  They changed my pain meds up and put me on bed rest for a week.  Maybe something to ask the doctor about?  The biggest thing that helped, besides the new pain meds was a stomach binder (basically a huge ace bandage that wraps around your waist.)

Don't let the doctor tell you that it's nothing, call non-stop if you have to.  This is serious surgery!

Thank you.  Yes I think I will go to the ER.  I spoke with docs office again and they said if I am hurting that bad I should go to ER.  I want to make sure nothing is wrong because they make me feel like a baby not able to handle the pain but this pain is intense and I have a high tolerance for pain.  Kerry

Thank you. I have to go to ER right now for scan for Blood slots so while I'm there might as well get the pain thing checked too.  I will ask about a binder also, never heard of this but if it  helps I'm all for it.  I use a pillow to move around but even with that it's not helping the pain.  Kerry

Gas can cause this kind of pain the doctor gave me a mild suppository that helped get the gas out.

Thank you. I dont think it is gas.  It is where the insisions are from the stomach coming out and camera going in.  I just hope I didn't pop a stitch or pull muscle or something worse.  I'm not sure what the gas pain is really I dont think I've had much.  Sometimes I get a bubble in my stomach and I burp or fart (TMI)  but it's not that uncomfortable and  then I feel better but it's not to often. I also think I can take down liquids faster than normal which concerns me that when I get to eating stage I'll be able to eat way more than I should. Kerry

At 3 weeks I stood up and had a shooting pain on my left side.  It was like starting all over again with the pain.  I called the doctor and they said I had pulled a muscle.  They said in about 2 days the pain should fizzle out.  They were right.

Hang in there.  Just think of smaller clothes.  That's what kept me going.  I am 2 months out and already a size 16, down from a 24.
